a~WARD~ Winning Dutch Oven Key Lime Cheesecake

For all of those that don't know yet, (I know there isn't many at this point) T and I entered into our ward dessert dutch oven cook-off. We have a wonderful friend that does dutch oven almost professionally and she was kind enough to share a recipe that I entered into our contest.

We WON!! It was probably the only thing that I have ever entered and won so it was fun to do. Anyway here is the recipe for anyone that wants to make it for themselves.

Crust:

1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
6 Tbsp. butter, melted
3 Tbsp. Sugar
1 tsp. grated key lime peel

 Cheesecake mixture:

 3 pkgs. cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
3 Tbsp. all purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. grated key lime peel
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup key lime juice
3 eggs

 Topping:

1 cup sour cream
3 Tbsp. Sugar
2 tsp. key lime juice

For the crust, combine graham cracker crumbs, butter, sugar and key lime peel in a small bowl. Place this mixture into the bottom of a 10 inch Dutch Oven and press evenly around the bottom. Set aside and prepare filling.

For the cheesecake mixture, in a large bowl beat cream cheese with a whisk until it is smooth. Blend in sugar. Add flour, vanilla and key lime peel. Stir in sour cream and key lime juice. Beat in eggs one at a time blending just until incorporated. Pour mixture into the 10 inch Dutch Oven over the graham cracker crust.

Bake using 14 coals on the top and 7 coals on the bottom for 50-60 minutes.*

While cheesecake is baking prepare topping. Mix sour cream, sugar and key lime juice together and chill. When cheesecake has finished baking, let it cool then top with topping and garnish with key lime slices.

*You may also bake this cheesecake in a Dutch Oven in your oven at home. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake for 50 minutes.
